QBIK WILD EVAPORATION

Uniform, natural humidity with no direct contact with water.

The QBIK WILD EVAPORATION range features an innovative passive humidification system designed to recreate a much more natural environment inside the ant nest.

Instead of using side tubes, these models include a water reservoir located beneath the ant nest. This reservoir remains completely separate from the galleries and transfers moisture through a technical mesh, allowing the water to evaporate gradually.

The reservoir also contains small pieces of activated carbon, which help prevent the water from becoming stagnant.

The result is a stable, humid environment, free from flooding and with a much more even distribution of moisture throughout the nest. This is especially important for ant species that require higher humidity, as it prevents the eggs from drying out and allows them to hatch properly.

How does it work?

  • Fill the lower reservoir using a syringe.
  • The water is stored beneath the ant nest.
  • Moisture slowly passes through the mesh by evaporation.
  • The galleries maintain a humid microclimate for much longer.

Because there is no direct contact between the water and the chambers, the risk of excessive condensation or water accumulation is significantly reduced when the system is used correctly. Bear in mind that condensation is unavoidable if heat is applied beneath the ant nest.

When the reservoir is empty, as it is not possible to see whether ants are standing on the mesh, simply drain the reservoir completely and refill it from empty.

On the one hand, it includes the new lower evaporation reservoir, which maintains stable ambient humidity throughout the ant nest. On the other, it retains a side drinking tube so the ants can drink from it.
This combination offers exceptional versatility, making it easy to adapt the humidity level to the needs of each colony.
