Fine desert sand, Cataglyphis or desert ants need this substrate for their foraging, as do species from very dry climates.

Necessary food for granivorous ants (Messor, Goninomm, Tetramorium...)

The substrate of the jungles, its moisture retention capacity is very high and oxygenates very well, ideal for making a thin layer so that the springtails can bury themselves in it. Ants from high humidity gradients love this substrate.

Sometimes we do not need so many humidity points or none at all, therefore these plugs are used to plug the entire humidity system, without the need to continue keeping the water tube on.

The biome packs we offer contain all the necessary elements for a highly efficient multi-layer configuration (drainage and oxygenation layer, filtration layer, combined substrate layer and organic layer) to act as a mineral base and life support for the bioactive system.
