10x20x1,3cms Acrylic Mushroom Kit (Messor barbarus included)

This Kit contains a colony of ants, usually of the Messor barbarus species. If you add another species to your order, different from the previous one, we will understand that you prefer the one you have selected, since we only send one colony per order or anthill. Never two, or three, etc.

You will receive the ants inside a test tube with food and water for two weeks. They were born inside the test tube and they are well there.

The 10x20x1,3cms Acrylic Ant's Nest Kit (MUSHROOM), water tank included, keeps higher humidity in the nest and provides improved visibility of the ants. Suitable for young colonies. Includes a 10x10 built-in foraging box with lid and humidity system.

It has a water tank at the bottom which is in permanent contact with the humidity system by a very tough mushroom-shaped plaster that allows humidity to reach the higher level. With this system humidity can be kept in the nest for weeks without adding water continuously.

The water tank is anchored and fixed to the nest by two rubber bands and a special fastening system with very long screws, so you will be able to carry and move the nest without loss of functionality.

To feed the ants, lift the lid of the foraging box. Be careful to prevent escapes.

Put the ants inside the nest through the foraging area. Pour out  the content of the test tube directly into the foraging zone, always being extremely careful.

The nest has a hole used to connect another nest or an auxiliary foraging box. Remember to block it with cotton or with a 9/6mm rubber stopper (Anthouse.es).

Easy to clean due to its anchors with screws. Suitable for all types of species and sizes, as long as they are not exceptionally big nor exceptionally small.

-  Complete Messor barbarus colony, with queen, workers, larvaes.

-  1 Spare mushroom.

-  2 9/6 mm rubber stoppers.

-  50g seeds.

- 10 ml Mineral oil (Anti-escapes).

NOTE: The mushroom is consumed over time. Its duration is approximately two years, so it is recommended to buy spares.

CAUTION: Don't clean with alcohol or another product but soapy water. The acrylic material could get broken. Don't even use talcohol (talcum powder dissolved in alcohol). If still used, it will be under the responsibility of the customer.

Warning: Maintenance of the ant nest is under responsibility of the customer. The wear and tear of the materials is not covered by warranty.
