This Kit contains a colony of ants, usually of the Messor barbarus species. If you add another species to your order, different from the previous one, we will understand that you prefer the one you have selected, since we only send one colony per order or anthill. Never two, or three, etc.

This model is perfect for medium-sized colonies, it includes an integrated foraging room (with lid) and a humidity system on the PVA sides, with 2 sliding gallery dividing lids, which greatly facilitate that it is not too much large at the beginning, and that, little by little, as the colony grows, so does the anthill, without forgetting more natural galleries that make better use of the available space.

We will introduce the ants through the connecting piece of test tubes that all our acrylic models incorporate, with which we will connect through said piece the test tube where the ants come with the anthill, thereby avoiding a lot of stress. It also has another connecting piece of methacrylate with a spout, to later join the anthill to another model or foraging area using a flexible 8-10 mm tube.

To moisten the anthill, we will use a syringe without a needle and wet the PVA foam until it does not absorb any more water and letting the water spread over the acrylic sheets of the anthill, but being careful not to flood the galleries excessively to prevent the ants drown. PVA Foam must always be wet.

To feed them, we will lift the cover of the foraging area, always taking care so that there are no leaks, being able to use anti-leaks such as mineral oil or liquid Teflon (click HERE), which will form a barrier to prevent the ants from escaping.

It has a hole to connect it with other anthills or foraging boxes. They do not require caps, as methacrylate closure caps are included.

Recommended for all types of species and sizes, as long as they are not exceptionally large or extremely small.

ATTENTION: do not clean with alcohol, or with any product other than soapy water, as it may cause the material to break.
